Music for Heaven

Liturgy
Choral conducting
Conducting choirs, both in liturgy and concerts, is an activity I am very passionate about. From chant, Renaissance polyphony, to 21st century music, I am familiar with all styles, for choirs of varying levels of musical experience.
Composing for the Sagrada Familia
'Sent la Creu' was composed specifically for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. It is a processional hymn for Lent, with a particular rhythm that fits the pace for a procession with the Cross.
Musical arrangements
I have arranged liturgical music for different choirs and ensembles. Here we have a traditional Catalan 'Sanctus' arranged for a SATB choir, formed by young people from parishes across Barcelona.
Congregational hymns
It is important to create pieces 'singable' for the congregation, and able to be extended to 4 voices by the choir, which supports the assembly. This is a setting of a text written by St Faustina Kowalsa, for Divine Mercy Sunday.
Carols
I believe some liturgical seasons have a distinct ethos for composition. Carols, Lenten hymns, pieces for particular feasts, have their own character and my aim is to convey that. Here we have a carol with a newly composed text by Beth Gilbert.
Organ performance
Trained by organists such as Tom Wilkinson (St Mary's Cathedral, Edinburgh), I have performed in several churches across UK and Spain, combining complex solo repertoire with accompaniment for congregational hymnody.
Community projects
As a member of St James' Schola Cantorum (St Andrews, UK), I composed a Mass for them. I explored modern techniques in a choir made by students and parishioners —a stimulating and rewarding challenge!
A Mass for specialist singers
The 'Missa Romanica' is a very particular Mass composed for trained specialist singers. It combines medieval techniques with 21st century aesthetics. It is ideal for performing in a Romanesque-style church.
Eucharistic motets
'Ego sum vitis vera' is a Communion motet, first performed in the Schola Cantorum of Montserrat in Monsterrat Abbey. It promotes intimacy with the Lord and reverence appropriate to liturgy.
